The first time I saw Red Fang was at Bowery Ballroom in New York in support of their album "Whales and Leaches", and it was absolutely bananas. The opening bands were terrific, and the crowd love them, but when guys hit the stage, shook hands, and hit the first chord of their first song, it was game over, By far one of the wildest shows I've been to; people being thrown around, shoved, pumps, beaten- and it was amazing. I got to meet the guys and chat with for a little bit afterwards, have them sign my CDs, and walked home with my Red Fang baseball tee stained with sweat and PBR.
I was lucky enough to see them perform about a year later at my hometown's Rock and Roll Hotel. Before the show, I was escorted backstage to meet the guys in their green room where I presented them with a ceramic replica of a sabertooth cat skull for them to sign. They were really impressed and were super happy to sign it.
